Participate in our Product Improvement Community: Canny

This article will show you how to create an account, search for feature requests to upvote or comment on, and add your own request.

Updated over 3 months ago

We use a tool called Canny to track user engagement around different feature requests for Otus. Otus users can create an account in Canny, which will allow them to communicate with our product team via feature request posts. You can post your own feature request, and search existing posts to upvote or comment on.

Our user experience team is often commenting alongside teachers and admins to research the best way to improve Otus and measure the impact of all of our outstanding feature requests.

Creating an Account

  • Step 2: You can now choose to log in with an existing account like Facebook, twitter, or Google. If you'd like to sign in with just an email and password, click the ✉️ icon on the right.

  • Step 3: Enter your name, email, and password twice.

Congratulations, you have now created a Canny account for Otus, welcome to the feedback family!

Navigating Canny

Before making a new feature request, search the list of existing posts to see if it has already been requested. Use key words in your search, and you may be able to upvote an existing idea. This is the best way to make sure a feature you want is delivered soon.

Request Statuses:

  • Any request listed on the main User Generated Feature Request page is considered an "open" request. Any of these can be upvoted (see below for details).

  • Other statuses include In Development, Complete, and Not Planned.

    • In Development: A feature request that is actively being worked on.

    • Complete: A feature request that is finished and in Otus

    • Not Planned: A feature request that is not currently being considered.

Sort Existing Posts

  • Filter existing posts by status, or sort them by trending, new, or top.

Upvote a Post

  • Select the number with a triangle above it to add your upvote to an existing post.

Create a New Post

  • On the left side of the page, you can add a new post with a title and any details about what you'd like to see in Otus. Be as specific as possible, and try to describe your feature request with the problem you're trying to solve first. It's possible we're already thinking of ways to solve the same problem, but in a different way!

🎉 Thank you for being a valuable member of our Product Improvement Community!
