Best Practices for Using Two Different Accounts or Account Types

Instructions for logging in from two different browsers or an incognito browser.

Updated over 3 months ago

If you need to log in to two different Otus accounts at once, here are the options we recommend.

Option 1: Use two different browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox...)

Option 2: Use an Incognito Window (Chrome) or Private Window (Safari).

Option 1: Use Two Different Browsers

If you are logging in to two different accounts, use a different browser for each account. For example, use Chrome for one account and Safari for another. Or Safari for one and FireFox for another.

Example: Using Chrome (left) for one account, and using Safari (right) for the other:

Option 2: Use an Incognito Window

You can use an Incognito Window for Chrome, or a Private Window for Safari. Both will allow you to enter into a "clean" browsing space, where there isn't any stored data/browsing history, and the browsing history and logins won't be saved.

Keep in mind, when using an Incognito Window or Private Window, Single Sign-Ons won't be saved; you'll need to enter in your username and password, even if you try to use Single Sign-On.

Chrome

  • Step 1: While in your Chrome browser, select the ellipsis in the upper-right corner. Select New Incognito Window.

  • Step 2: Go to my.otus.com/login. Login to the second account.

  • Step 3: You now have one account in your regular browser window, and the second account in the Incognito window. Navigate through each account as needed.

Safari

  • Step 1: While in your Safari browser, select File, then New Private Window.

  • Step 2: Go to my.otus.com/login. Login to the second account.

  • Step 3: You now have one account in your regular browser window, and the second account in the Private window. Navigate through each account as needed.
